What can you use the application for?
FotoFlexer.com is an advanced online image editor. With the ability
to upload/download from outside systems, FotoFlexer can be a companion
to all of your image editing needs.
What is the history and popularity of the application?
FotoFlexer was created by Arbor Labs and a team of students and alumni
from UC Berkeley and an MIT alum. The idea is simple, create an
online photo editor that allows advanced effects to be performed on
uploaded and linked images with only a web browser. This is normally
accomplished with professional image editing software that can become
pricey and has a steep learning curve.
What are the differences to other applications?
FotoFlexer differs from some of the other online image editing apps by
allowing image processing without having an account as well as the
ability to modify images in a very Web 2.0/ajaxish environment. They
no longer use the three toolbox design that software applications like
Photoshop do, they offer a similar UI Word 2007 with an editing ribbon
across the top of the window.
How does the application look and feel to use?
While the new user interface of FotoFlexer is very pretty, the
usability can be difficult at times. While switching between
different photo effect features (such as adding glitter text or
removing blemishes) the application requires the user to either be in
or out of full-screen mode. For some reason, at this time, certain
features can only be done in one or the other. This can become
confusing while using the site to modify images.
How does the registration process work?
There is no need to register in order to modify images. Registration
provides the ability to save photos and images in your account.
What does it cost to use the application?
The site is completely free.
Who would you recommend the application to?
FotoFlexer would be a great add-on to anyone needing make quick
changes to images. The fact that FotoFlexer allows image editing
without registering for the site makes it a great choice for people
who simply want to tweak the photo or remove a blemish. Some of the
additional text features and the neat effect (like neon or blueprint)
make FotoFlexer a fun toy to use every day.
