Yummly wins an App Award

AppAward We all enjoy good food and we all want to be healthy. So when it comes to what we eat we generally prefer to cook our own food or at least go to a restaurant that we know is good. In the old days, people had to learn how to cook by learning recipes from friends, people they knew or cooking books. This made their cooking repertoire somewhat limited. Also, finding a good restaurant was even a bigger hustle. One would have to rely on friends´ recommendations or try and find one through the dreadful process of trail and error.

Today web apps have made this problems disappear like a chocolate cake left unguarded in a room full of toddlers. You can find literally hundreds of thousands of recipes online, from all the cuisines around the world. Find hundreds of dishes for people suffering from diabetes, or with allergies. Picking a great restaurant has never been easier: use a web app and see what reviews the restaurants in your area have received. You can also get advice on wine: what wine to buy for a special occasion, or which one goes with what dish and more.

Because of all their great functionality, food and drink web apps are going to get more and more popular. Today we would like to award some of these web apps for leading us to all those tasty lunches, dinners or even breakfasts we ate since we started using them.

Most user friendly
Yummly

AppAward Winner Probably the most easy to use recipe web app we have seen so far. After choosing to either search or browse through the site´s recipe repository, users are sent to a new page. On this page they can do a more refined search of the dish they would like to create. Users can search by cuisine, time it takes to prepare, ingredients the recipe uses, allergies, and even diets, to name only a few of the filters. It is a great web app and virtually anybody can make 100% use of all its functionalities in a couple of minutes.
