AppAward

Before we begin I have to make a confession: my sister is a “bargain” junkie. Every day she surfs daily deals websites and waits for her mail updates, in search for the next “great deal”.  At first, I was kind of skeptical and making a bit fun of her and her enthusiasm about her new find. But all that changed one Thursday when she laid out her week-end schedule: Friday night dinner at a very fancy restaurant – two menus, pay only one; Saturday, concert – tickets 30% off, and Sunday a day at a local spa, full treatment for only 15 Euros. These were just a few of the deals she found online.

Everybody loves a bargain. This is the main idea behind daily deal applications. These kind of web apps provide users with special offers to events, shows, expositions etc. to which otherwise you probably wouldn’t have gone either because of the “high price” or lack of information. It is a great way for users to experience something new and for businesses to get some exposure.

Today, we hand out the App Awards to those daily deal apps that make us feel like we stroke gold or like Christmas is around the corner.

With LivingSocial you just access the website, select the location that you are interested in, submit your e-mail address and then wait for the best deals in your area to just pour into your Inbox. It is a very to use web app which makes it our Most user friendly App Award winner. The large number of people already using is also an indicator to how easy it is to use.
