Zoho Writer is an online word processor that offers users a number of helpful features. Users can share documents over the internet and collaborate with individuals or groups online. All collaboration changes are made in real time so the user is always viewing the most recent version of the document. Zoho Writer also lets users import and export documents from Google Doc or their desktop. Offline support tools are available that allow users to access and edit documents even when they are not connected to the internet. The homepage features a list of features and screenshots organized throughout the center. The top, left hand corner presents the colorful block Zoho logo beside the application name in blue. The actual user interface uses a similar style with a lot of low key colors and open space so the user can focus on text rather than distracting visual elements. A new user must create a Zoho account to use Zoho Writer. This can be done by clicking the blue and black “Sign Up for Free” button in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage (just above the log in area). The following page contains the registration form which asks for a username, email address, password and word verification. The user must also check the terms of service and privacy policy agreement check box before submitting the information. Users can also register by clicking either the Google, Google Apps, Facebook or Yahoo buttons along the right side. Zoho Writer is available to all users for free. The user only has to sign up for a Zoho account to being using the application. This is definitely a good way to encourage users to sign up. Some Zoho applications are not free, however Writer does not require a subscription or any other fees. Zoho Writer is a fast, easy solution for anyone who needs a text editor. The application can be used for any kind of text editing purpose. Users who already have a registered Zoho account may find Writer to be an even more appealing.
