What can you use the application for?
Zoho Show is an online presentation application. It is a bit like PowerPoint but online. It includes powerful sharing features such as embedding and remote viewing with multiple persons.
What is the history and popularity of the application?
Zoho is owned by AdventNet, a company which also makes network management software. They offer many office applications including a CRM application which competes with Salesforce. Zoho Show was launched in June of 2006 and in December of 2007 Zoho Show 2.0 was introduced.
What are the differences to other applications?
Compared to other presentation tools Zoho looks like solid offering with all the essential features. Compared to programs such as PowerPoint you miss the audio and animations options.
How does the application look and feel to use?
Zoho doesn't look and feel like a fancy new web2.0 application. It is simple and only shows the relevant buttons and links. The whole interface is very responsive. There are multiple ways to share your presentation with other people, including a URL you can send to others while you can still fully control the presentation.
How does the registration process work?
Registration requires a username, password and email address. After you confirm the email address and re-enter the password you are taken to the Zoho main page.
What does it cost to use the application?
Zoho Show is currently is beta and completely free. In the future it will become part of the Zoho suite and you use it for free or upgrade to a Zoho Business Premium Edition. The differences between these future versions are not yet clear.
Who would you recommend the application to?
We recommend Zoho for business applications where you need to give a presentation during a conference call or when you need to send colleagues a presentation without sending massive attachments.
