Yahoo Mail offers users another option when choosing a new email account provider. Users can perform all the basic email related tasks, including sending email messages, receiving messages and saving messages in folders. The user can also view recipient email address, date and time received. The application currently offers additional sign in options that include Google and Facebook. Much like Gmail, Yahoo Mail also offers a live chat function that allows users to chat with those on their contact lists. The user can choose to set a status for their chat. Status options include available, busy, offline and invisible. User can access a built in note pad, calendars and manage contact lists through their Yahoo Mail dashboard. Mobile mail features allow users to provide their mobile phone number to access the Yahoo mobile friendly site. The user dashboard also provides the user with recent activity feeds, trending topics, search tool and an overview of unopened messages.

Yahoo Mail is a part of Yahoo. Yahoo was founded in January of 1994 by David Filo. It is one of the oldest names commonly found on the internet. The company is based out of Sunnyvale, California and currently employs over 13,000 individuals. Yahoo Mail looks much like any other typical email application. The user can find their folders listed along the left side, just above a solid blue chat and mobile text tool. The center and right side of the page lists the user’s inbox messages with the recipient, subject, date and size. The site also includes advertisements, which are primarily positioned at the top and sides of the page.
How does the registration process work?
A new user can create a Yahoo account by clicking the blue “Sign In” link in the upper, right hand corner of the Yahoo homepage. The user can click either the Facebook or Google buttons found along the right hand side of the following page or the “Create New Account” button found below them. The Yahoo registration form asks for a first and last name, gender, date of birth, country location, postal code, desired Yahoo email address, password, two security questions and answers as well as an optional alternative email address.
