Wrike is an intuitive project management web application that attempts to increase the efficiency of any business, by saving time and resources. Trying to solve the usual managerial problems, such as email in-box chaos, spreadsheets and disconnected files, Wrike wants to be at the same time simple to use and complete, incorporating all the tools that a company, be it small or huge, requires.
What is the history and popularity of the app?
The application is handled by Wrike Corporation, a leading provider of on-demand project management software for companies of all sizes that is based in Silicon Valley, California. Ever since it’s founding in 2003, the corporation has constantly developed its trademark application, which constantly saw an increased number of users. In the third quarter of 2009 the revenues of the company increased by an outstanding 400% compared to the revenue in the same period of the previous year.
Active in over 50 countries, Write is often used by small business managers as well as very important corporations, such as Hilton or Adobe.
What are the differences to other apps?
The main difference that sets Wrike apart from its competitors is represented by its ingenuity that manages to increase drastically the efficiency and productivity of managers worldwide. This is achieved by a set of special features such as automatic task reminders, CSV export and import templates, flexible structures, task assignment and task sharing, intelligent email engine and 256-bit SSL data encryption.
How does the web app look and feel to use?
Wrike is user friendly and well organized. The great number of features that it offers might sound at first as overwhelming, but the application is well structured, maintaining in this way its accessibility. The Dynamic Time Line and the Flexible Structures are two of the most powerful features on Wrike, that are implemented very well into the application, making them accessible and easy to use.
How does the registration process work?
Registration is required in order to use Wrike. Creating an administrator account takes only a couple of minutes, and only requires a valid email address, for the usual confirmation email. A 30 day free trial account can be created by anyone, and does not require any downloads or installation, and most importantly, no credit card. This is great for accessibility and for all those that like to test the application for a while, before deciding if it is appropriate for their needs or not.
What does it cost to use the application?
There are a couple of paid accounts available that come with extra features, such as unlimited viewers. All subscriptions allow the management of an unlimited number of tasks and projects, the organization of a hierarchy of tasks and the possibility of selecting particular information that can be shared with other users. Also, all accounts, including the free trial, come with real time data backup, 99%+ uptime and free email support.
There are three types of paid subscriptions available: Unlimited Viewers (9.95$ per month) allows for an unlimited number of viewers that can view tasks and receive notifications. Collaborator (9.95$ per user per month) allows collaborators to created and modify tasks, and view and update project plans. Including 500Mb of file storage. Manager (19.95$ per user per month) allows managers to have complete control over projects and reports. Including 5 GB of file storage.
Who would you recommend the application to?
Wrike wants to be a management solution for small to middle size companies. However, customizable subscriptions are also available, these being addressed to larger corporations.
Wrike increases the efficiency of any business, making the task of managers a much more simple undertaking, and for this reason it can be considered as extremely useful, and not just a mere addition application. Since it increases productivity, all those that have a business of their own will find it as almost a necessity, especially nowadays when a significant part of any business is handled over the internet.
