When I Work is an employee scheduling application. It connects work schedules online with mobile apps and text messaging.
When I Work was launched on July 20, 2010 by thisCLICKS, LLC and was opened for beta testing in January 2011.
This is a relatively easy scheduling program that connects employers and employees via a cloud-based application.
After registration, users must indicate whether the schedule is for a single location or multiple locations and then set up the positions to be added to the schedule. Adding employees requires a first and last name, email address, mobile number, position, and location (if multiple locations are listed). Commonly scheduled shifts may be added with start and end time and color code.
Once the basic information is added, the user may assign shifts by clicking on the date and indicating what shift the employee should be given. Shift assignments may be edited with drag-and-drop.
Support is available through a knowledge base or public discussion.
The interface seems complicated at first, but once it is set up, it’s relatively easy to use. The real benefit of this is the ability to maintain the schedule in the cloud. This increases schedule accessibility on and offsite.
Account creation requires first and last name, email address, schedule name, time zone, password, and site name/address.
The Basic Plan is offered at a cost of $9.95/month for up to 10 employees. The Standard Plan, at $19.95/month covers up to 25 employees. The Premium Plan costs $39.95/month for up to 50 employees. Then the Plus Plans for those companies of 75 or more are offered at $59.95-219.95/month. All plans are pay-as-you-go with no long term contracts.
A free account is offered for those with 5 employees or less. All accounts are eligible for a free 30 day trial with no credit card required.
Business with complex schedules and multiple shifts will find this application the most useful.
