WebGreek allows fraternity members to raise money and manage their chapter easily online. The application includes numerous tools that cover many tasks. Fraternity members can stay in touch through WebGreek’s text and group email messages. Users can also share files and collect money. Money collections also allow users to send bills and accept donations through WebGreek. Additional features offer better scheduling solutions that include text reminders so no one misses an important event. Users can also build polls to get opinions on important topics or sell tickets that can be promoted on Facebook to raise funds for their chapter.
Three of the six WebGreek founders belonged to a fraternity at UC Berkeley. They found that managing tasks within the fraternity could be a challenge. College kept members busy and adding to that the need to schedule, raise funds and stay in touch, it was hard to do it all. Utilizing their personal experience, the founders came up with the concept behind WebGreek, which was created in 2010.
There are many organizational tools available online. Most of these are geared towards businesses or non profit organizations. WebGreek is one of the few that caters to fraternities. The features available are intended to help with all aspects of managing a chapter, from raising funds and selling tickets to staying in touch with members and scheduling important events.
WebGreek features a glue and green color scheme that works well. The site is stylish, with a fun owl logo (or primarily the owl’s eyes and beak). The tools are designed by fraternity members who understand the needs of this group, so they are customized perfectly to the task. They are also designed for quick use so the user doesn’t have to spend a great deal of time learning WebGreek to begin using it. The only downside to the design is the online help chat box, which seems to force itself open and blocks out portions of the site.
A new user can click the green “Sign Up” button in the top right hand corner of the homepage or the green “Try It Free” button at the center of the homepage. The user is asked to select their chapter from the available list. After doing so, the user is asked to enter a cloud computer name and click “Create.” The next page is the actual registration form. Users can also login through AirSet Mobile or Facebook by clicking on the corresponding button at the top of the form. The form requires a first and last name, email address, password, country location, time zone and mobile phone number.
WebGreek keeps billing simple and affordable. Rather than offering multiple tiers of plans, all users get access to the very same features when they pay for a WebGreek membership. The price varies based on the number of members the user’s chapter has. The lowest quantity is 1 to 40, which costs just under $20 per month. Next is 41 to 100 members which is priced at about $40 per month. Chapters with 101 members or more pay around $50 per month for WebGreek.
WebGreek is designed for a very specific user group: fraternity members. Users who are responsible for managing their chapter can really appreciate the features available through WebGreek. The system is relatively easy to use and tailored to fraternities. Users can collect money, donations or sell tickets to fundraising events through WebGreek.
