What is the history and popularity of the application?
Tripr tv was setup as a site where travellers could film short clips of their hotel experience and place it online for others to view. The idea is that soon many hotels will have video impressions, and that web users will use tripr tv to book rooms. Tripr tv receives commission for any rooms booked through the site, and 1/3 of the commission for a room booked for a certain hotel is passed on, via PayPal, to the user who shot the video for that particular hotel. At the moment the site isn't developed enough to be of much use. There just isn't enough content in the form of hotel listings. Looking for a hotel in Sweden? Or on the continents of Asia or Australia? You won't find any, yet. Tripr seem to have an "if you build it, they will come" mentality, hoping that their site will become popular and soon be filled up with user generated content.
What are the differences to other applications?
Tripr tv is a very unique application playing to a niche market. The only question is if it is too much of a nice market. Time will tell. It does offer a better impression of a hotel room than any other site, but it is perhaps only a matter of time before the major travel agencies pick up on the video idea and implement it into their own sites. Hopefully the user generated content is what will make Tripr tv unique.
How does the application look and feel to use?
Tripr tv makes use of the Google Maps interface, allowing you to navigate around the world to various cities, where you can zoom in to certain cities to find hotels. This is a very elegant implementation of the Google Maps interface. The other buttons on the site are marked very visibly, so you don't have to worry about getting lost in layers of complicated menus.
How does the registration process work?
There is no need to register if you simply want to browse the site. If you wish to upload a video of a hotel that you have stayed at, then you will need to provide your personal details, especially if you plan on receiving payment for a video.

Tripr tv is a free service, funded by commission earned on hotel bookings made through the site.
Who would you recommend the application to?
The site is not yet developed enough to be used as your primary source for booking hotels. However, if you like to make short clips with your mobile phone camera or handycam while on holidays, then maybe this is the site where you can make a bit of money for yourself by filming your hotel experience and sharing it with users. And you might even make a couple of bucks on the side.
