What can you use the application for?
Tripntale.com is an online community built on a social networking model where users can store and share photos, video and journals of trips they have taken. The site has a WYSIWYG editor for building a Trip. Photos consist of a group of pictures, which can be shown in slideshow format. Journals consist of journal entries with pictures added to them. Users can also upload 1 or more Videos to the trip editor. All of these elements of a Trip are shown on a summary page, which also gives the ability to use Microsoft Visual
Earth to provide a map of the trip.
Users of the site can browse or search the trips created by others. They can also vote on individual trips by giving them a Thumbs Up. Users gain Points whenever they receive a Thumbs Up. Points for a user are shown in a Popularity Meter. All new users receive 200 points. The site has the ability to export content to Facebook and MySpace using applets provided by the site. Photos can be imported from Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, and SmugMug. Users have an unlimited amount of storage space on Tripntale.
