What can you use the app for?
Tracked.com is an online business information social networking site. The site brings together business information and communications and connections between people with similar business interests. Users can track information on the site by company, by person, or by industry, and easily share it with their friends and colleagues. The site has a complete suite of social networking tools such as profiles, messaging, the ability to issue updates and friends (called “connections”). The user portion of the site is divided into sections.
My Tracker shows the user a summary of all the company, person and industry watches that they have set up. The My Profile page shows the users profile, as well as allows the user to issue updates that can be public or sent only to their connections. The My Profile page also shows the user a condensed summary of their watches. The My Connections page gives users a summary list of all of their connections on the site. Connections can be viewed by by tag, by industry or by geography. The My Settings page allows the user to control their site settings. It also allows the user to setup integration of Tracked.com with the user's Twitter account. The Send Messages page allows the user to send messages that can be made public, sent to a group of connections, or to an individual connection.
What is the history and popularity of the app?
Tracked.com was founded in April 2008 and launched into public beta in October 2009. The company CEO is Mike Yavonditte, and Bert Solivan is President.
What are the differences to other apps?
Competition to Tracked.com comes from sites such as Linkedin.com and Yahoo Finance. The site really incorporates the features of both of these sites – business information and business networking, so it is a competitor to both. Linkedin is primarily a business social network, while Yahoo Finance is a business information provider.
How does the web app look and feel to use?
The Tracked.com site manages to achieve a relatively clean look, despite a lot of information being displayed on most pages. The site is very responsive, and page loads happen quickly. Navigation is intuitive, with a convenient top menu bar for navigation to the user's various pages. Users who have used a social networking site will have no trouble in using the Tracked.com site. There is no advertising displayed on the site.

Registration to Tracked.com is free and is required to track information and have connections. The registration process asks for first and last name, email address, password, username, company, industry, country and postal code. Validation of the email address is required.

Tracked.com is recommended to people with an interest in business information and business networking. The site does a good job of combining the two functions into a business information social network. The site has undergone tremendous growth since launch, and they continue to add new business information to their database. The site is very easy to use and the service is entirely free at this point.
