TinyChat is an online chat application which can be run from within your web browser. This means that it’s possible to use it without downloading any software to your computer. All of the chat rooms are disposable which means you can use them once and then get rid of them. This makes it really easy to start an online chat with anyone; it also makes it possible to talk to someone without handing out your contact details. Security is very important these days and TinyChat can make security much easier.
TinyChat was founded in January 2009 by Daniel Blake. The application is a disposable chat room application which makes it possible to talk to anyone without revealing your contact details.
TinyChat is different to other online chat applications because you can create your own chat rooms. All of the chat rooms can be disposable which means you can throw them away when you have finished with them. This makes it a useful application for talking to people that you don’t know very well. You can give everyone a disposable chat room and then decide whether or not you want to share your contact details with them in the future.
TinyChat has a nice look and feel to it and is very simple to use. It’s particularly easy because you don’t need to sign up. You just need to enter a chat room name and then give your contacts the URL. This is simply a matter of copying and pasting the address to give to someone you’ve met.
You don’t need to register to use TinyChat as the only thing you need to do is choose a name for a room. You can then paste this and give it to your contacts. TinyChat also offers professional accounts which you can register for. These include five chat rooms which are saved, enhanced security systems and higher quality video. Registering for a pro account is very easy; however the form isn’t designed very well as the text boxes don’t match up with where they are supposed to go. The password field is also plain text which is strange and worrying. Pro accounts are available for a monthly subscription.
TinyChat is completely free to use for regular accounts, however they also offer professional accounts. Professional TinyChat accounts cost $14.95 per month through Google checkout. Professional accounts come with five chat rooms which you can save and use time and time again.
TinyChat is ideal for anyone who wants to talk to people on the internet while protecting their contact information. You might already have a disposable email address, so why not have a disposable chat room too. This is also one of the easiest ways for anyone to chat on the internet.

When using "open mic", if the person speaking or playing music is just a little too loud, TinyChat's volume slider self adjusts, lowering itself to where it almost mutes the person speaking. It's quite annoying and there's no way to prevent it from happening. Additionally, using "Push To Talk" mode does the same thing, though there's no indication as the volume slider is not visible in this mode. Developers advise that they "are looking into this" but it has not been resolved for several months. Video/Audio lag is unacceptable when chatting with users from around the globe, especially with several broadcasting video. As users come and go in video chat, the screen repositions itself. When enough people do it, the screen "breaks". The screen elements and text becomes dislocated as do several buttons. The only fix is to refresh the screen and come back in.
