What can you use the app for?

TimeCenter provides users with an online appointment scheduling tool. The application includes automatic SMS and email reminder messages to help prevent a missed appointment. The user is given access to their own TimeCenter page that can be used as their website. TimeCenter is ideal for a number of businesses in many industries, including fitness classes, beauty salons, workshops, coaching sessions, events and meetings. A journal feature is included so the user can see what was discussed with the client during their previous appointment. The application also maintains a customer database for the user that can provide an overview of clients, including personal preferences, email addresses, telephone numbers and other contact details. Users can upload their company logo to make their TimeCenter page look professional and identifiable. Clients can visit the user’s TimeCenter page and make appointments or cancel or reschedule booked appointments. Promotional tools are included that allow the user to send text messages and/or emails to all of their clients at once to alert them to promotions and special offers.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

TimeCenter was founded in 2007. The application was intended to provide a better appointment setting solution for small to medium size businesses. The company is based in Sweden with RackSpace hosted servers in the United Kingdom. Current languages include English, Swedish, French and Danish.

What are the differences to other apps?

TimeCenter offers many of the same features found with other similar applications. Some users might prefer TimeCenter because of its clean, professional style. The application includes a number of helpful extras such as email and text message notifications that can help prevent a forgotten appointment. The application also allows users to send out promotional material to their customer database.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

The TimeCenter homepage welcomes users with a vibrant blue and green color scheme. The stylish logo features a clock in place of the letter “c” with a light reflection just underneath. New users can easily navigate to all the important areas of the TimeCenter homepage. The application also allows users to customize their appointment pages with logos and content.

How does the registration process work?

New users can try TimeCenter for free for 30 days by clicking the green and white “Try It For Free” button found along the left hand side of the homepage. The user is then asked to choose their preferred TimeCenter plan by clicking the corresponding green “Sign Up” button. The registration form asks for a name, company name, desired booking page URL, email address and a password. A small note at the bottom of the form advises the user that by submitting their information, they are automatically agreeing to the TimeCenter terms of use.

What does it cost to use the application?

TimeCenter provides users with three membership options to choose from. The first is the One plan which is intended for a single user and includes one calendar for just under $30 per month. The Pro plan is intended for small teams and allows up to ten calendars for just under $50 per month. The Premium plan is the site’s “top of the line” plan that gives the user up to 50 calendars for just under $100 per month. Text messages cost extra and start at around 16 cents per message. Users can purchase text messages in packages of 100, 500 and 1,000. The higher the quantity, the less the user pays per text message.

Who would you recommend the application to?

TimeCenter could be a valuable tool for small to medium size businesses that need to take appointments. The application provides many helpful services as well as text messaging options (which cost extra, but might be worth it for some businesses).

  • Choose from three diverse membership plans
  • Purchase text message packages to go with your plan
  • Create a TimeCenter website with your company logo
  • Allow clients to book, reschedule or cancel appointments online
  • Access multiple calendars (based on membership level)

I've tried "Timecenter," "Clickbook," and "Genbook" in the past, and then last used the services of "AppointmentQuest." I personally found that they all share similar features (some with more than others), but they ultimately serve the same objective and purpose which is to make your day-to-day administrative duties easier. I, as well as my patients, found that the more feature-rich applications seemed to be more cumbersome as it would just confuse you. But of course, that's just my own opinion. But I think when you're a small business (or practice) such as myself, the bottom line is usually the costs associated with the service. Up until August/11, I was using "AppointmentQuest" and "Constant Contact" for my online scheduling and email marketing needs, until a good friend of mine recommended I give Jibbio a try. They provide you with a "6-in-1" toolset, and out of the 6 tools, I currently use 3 of them- an online scheduling software, email newsletter marketing software (with Facebook/Twitter integrated), and their online forms/survey software. They also have an "online coupon software" which is pretty neat, but I'm not utilizing it at the moment. The only downfall (for me) to the online scheduling software with Jibbio is that they don't have a "recurring appointments" option, or SMS appointment notifications, but it's not a deal breaker for me or my patients. It just needs to be simple, easy, and reliable for both myself and patients. Anyhow, I gave their 14-day free trial a go, and ended up continuing til now (Dec 27/11). They state their tools are worth $180/month, but whether or not that's exaggerated, you can't argue the $19.95/month they're charging. The way I look at it is if I'm using 3 of their tools, it's costing me an average ~$6.65/month and so I guess you can say that's a fair deal. Highly recommended if you’re on a tight budget. So far so good. Again, the company is called Jibbio. I'm tired of companies gouging small businesses. It's just software...it can't be that expensive to develop or run right?
