MyFriendSuggests.com was developed to help improve the process of searching for a great places to eat, drink or sleep. The site uses a proprietery suggestion algorithm to accurately predict which places you'll enjoy most based on your tastes and the tastes of those like you.
MyFriendSuggests.com has renamed itself theSUGGESTR on April 29th, 2008.
theSUGGESTR will allow you to build a friend network for which you can share and learn about great places. The site's unique search interface allows you to easily find places in any range using Google Maps and sort these places by your personal predicted rating. theSUGGESTR is also a member of MyPerkPlace's reward network; which means user's of theSUGGESTR can earn Perk Points for using the site frequently. These points can then be redeemed through MyPerkPlace.
What are the differences to other applications?
The biggest difference between theSUGGESTR and other local search sites is that theSUGGESTR doesn't only allow you to search but it suggests places. No more searching through 100's of contradicting reviews. The similarity meter feature (which graphically demonstrates how similar the tastes of users are) allows you to find the reviews that are most likely to represent your tastes. Also unlike other sites theSUGGESTR rewards its users for their participation in improving the site by granting them Perk Points.

The look and feel of the site is simple bordering on plain. This is an area were the application could be improved but overall it does the job.
How does the registration process work?
The ability to search and browse locations does not require login. However to receive any of the personalized suggestion features you must be registered with theSUGGESTR. Registration is quick and simple and only requires your email address, name and city/state.
What does it cost to use the application?
theSUGGESTR is completely free and currently has minimal advertising on a few screens.

Recommended for someone who travels frequently and wants to find a place they'll love in a city they've never been before. Also if your new to a neighborhood or bored with going to the same old place theSUGGESTR can find someplace for you.
