Thecadmus.com is a web application that sorts the user's social networking streams and orders the post by relevance. The service also discovers conversations in the stream and groups the posts in a conversation together. The application updates in real time and the user's stream can be viewed by trending conversations or personal trending topics, which just shows content from people the user is following. The view of trending conversations can be filtered by the last 6 hours, the last 12 hours, last day, last 3 days or last week. The view of personal trending topics can be filtered by topic. Users can also post to their social networking sites from within the Cadmus application. Currently Cadmus supports streams from Twitter, FriendFeed and RSS. Services can be added by choosing the service and entering the login details for that service. While viewing streams, clicking on an item in a stream will take the user to that person's stream. Navigation of the site is simple, with a top menu bar containing tabs for Home and Services. Clicking on Home brings up the user's stream with a left-hand menu bar which allows the user to filter by trending conversations or personal trending topics. The filters for these views are also shown in the left-hand menu. Thecadmus.com was launched in December, 2009. Competition to Thecadmus.com comes from sites such as Pepperjet, Plaxo and Hootsuite. All of these sites offer social network consolidation with various other features. Thecadmus is the simplest of the services, and the best at filtering the content that is most relevant as well as grouping posts into conversations. The other sites currently offer more features and integration with more social networks than Thecadmus.com. Thecadmus.com has a very Web 2.0 look and feel. Pages are clean and uncluttered. The site is quite responsive, and page loads happen quickly. Stream updates are quite responsive as well, and are performed in real time. Navigation is intuitive, and the application is very easy to use. There is no advertising displayed on Thecadmus.com site. Registration to Thecadmus.com is not required, but a Twitter login is required to use the site. The Twitter registration process asks for full name, username, password and email address. Validation of the email address is required. There is no premium membership offered to Thecadmus.com site, and Twitter users have access to all features of the site. Thecadmus.com is recommended to anyone who has a need to consolidate their social networking sites in one place. The site does a very good job of discovering relevant topics and displaying them first. The site also does a good job of discovering conversations and displaying them in an easy to follow format. Hopefully the site will be adding integration with more social networks soon, as this is needed for the application to become truly useful.
