SpiderScribe gives users a way to brainstorm and mind map online. The application gives users the tools they need to organize ideas and projects. The user can drag and drop stencils directly onto their map. The user can type in text to an item added. SpiderScribe automatically changes links to clickable URLs. The user can also drag lines to connect items on their map. Each item can be shifted and resized on the page. Files can be uploaded from the user’s computer and posted to the map. Google Maps can be added for location based items. The user can also change the font size, color and style. Each map can be dragged to move it on the page. Undo, redo and delete functions are also included. The user can search their maps and return to previously created maps to edit and update them.

The current version gives users a wide range of options that include uploading files, changing text size and style and adding a stencil for a Google Map location.
The diverse variety of items that can be added to a SpiderScribe document is what makes it so unique. The most appealing currently included are the file upload, images and the Google Maps tool.
SpiderScribe provides users with a clean, simple interface that is very easy to learn. The center of the editor page is blank, giving the user an area to begin working in. Along the left hand side, the user can find stencil icons to add various elements to their mind map (including Google Maps, images, links and files). The right hand side presents a box that allows the user to change the appearance of font. The application uses a basic drag and drop system that gives the user total control over positioning and size of each item included on their mind map.
A new user can create a SpiderScribe account by clicking the orange “Free Sign Up” button found along the right hand side of the homepage. The registration form appears on the following page. The form asks for a name, email address, password and Captcha code entry. After filling out the form, the user can click the orange and white “Create My Account” button at the bottom to submit their information.
All users can access their SpiderScribe accounts for free. There are no subscription fees or other charges or using the application. It is important to note that SpiderScribe is currently in beta.
