Ratingstars4 Rated 4 out of 5 stars by AppAppeal Editor
What can you use the application for?
Soshiku is a unique tool that can be used by school children, and college students to manage their assignments. Most of the other scheduling programs focus around work; this one however is very much focused around providing students with a way to manage their various projects effectively. Soshiku will be able to track when your deadlines are, and can also notify you by text message, or email so that you never miss a deadline again. The system is very simple to use, and means that you don’t have to worry about managing all of your assignments. The invaluable reminder function makes it possible for you to never miss a deadline again, text messages and emails will serve as a great reminder. You can also use the system as a great place to organize your work; you can upload files, check off tasks when they are complete, write notes and even work with partners. As a student you will often be asked to work with other students, soshiku makes this easy as it simplifies the task of working with other people. It’s possible to use soshiku to chat, share files and collaborate so you’re both on the same page.
What is the history and popularity of the application?
Soshiku was launched on 25th September 2008, by Definitialize LLC. This company was founded by Andrew Scraper who was 17 at the time. Soshiku was the first tool created by Definitialize and was created because of a lack of similar tools on the internet.
What are the differences to other applications?
This is a unique application that is designed at school children and students rather than being a tool just for business people. It’s also completely free to use, which makes a nice change to many of the other collaboration tools out there. Being able to be reminded with a text message or email makes it a great way to ensure that you don’t miss important deadlines.
How does the application look and feel to use?
Using Soshiku is wonderful; it’s a very simple interface which is great fun to navigate. A calendar is located at the side of the page, with a list of your pending deadlines. This makes it very easy to keep track of the deadlines and make sure that you are going to be able to meet them. You start by adding courses to the system, and then adding your assignments. This makes it really easy to keep track of which assignments are for which subjects.
How does the registration process work?
It’s very easy to sign up to an account at soshiku, when you first visit the homepage you will see a signup link. Clicking that presents you with a form to fill in to register for an account. You only really need to enter your username and password. Entering an email is optional, however if you don’t enter an email then you won’t get any reminders sent by email. There is no confirmation email required, and as soon as you have registered you are automatically signed in.
What does it cost to use the application?
It’s completely free to use SoShiKu which makes it perfect for already cash strapped students who are forced to buy dozens of books. Soshiku has no paid plans and is supported by adverts, however the adverts are very small and do not detract from the usefulness of this app.
Who would you recommend the application to?
Soshiku is a fantastic tool for students looking for a way to manage their assignments. Although you can do most of the features offered by Soshiku using a piece of paper, it’s very easy to lose the paper, and also you don’t get some of the more advanced features. The collaboration features are perfect for working together in project teams, and will free up more of your time to do work rather than having to organize meetings. Soshiku is ready for mainstream use; just don’t use it on your phone at school!
