Scadaplan is designed to assist users in completing projects, planning schedules and collaborating. The application gives users a place to store all of their current and future tasks. Scadaplan also includes a built in timer so the user can log work hours and determine the best way to schedule each day. The application also includes discussions, comments and other similar tasks that enable multiple individuals to collaborate on a project. Calendars are also built into Scadaplan so the user can accurately plan projects and visualize task completion. Each day, all tasks are logged and assigned a status so the user stays up to date on progress. Scadaplan also utilizes a Facebook-esque status system that allows the user to subscribe to certain items so they receive up to the moment notifications as things change and progress. The application has also incorporated user permissions which also enable users to invite guests to their projects.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Scadaplan is a product of Scada. Scada was founded by Karl Plaude and Alex Vasilevsky in January of 2002. The company currently employs around ten individuals and assists clients with design and development projects. The company’s many focus remains on building effective business solutions that implement advanced IT and visual technologies. Scada has worked on a diverse collection of projects, including the Lexus Test Drive website, the Klientskiy bank website and the Prime Consulting website. Future additions are planned for Scadaplan, including advanced projects section, status updates, archives, profile analytics and experimental profiles and personal dashboards.

What are the differences to other apps?

Scadaplan brings together many of the items professionals need to manage their projects. The application covers most everything, from collaboration tools to statuses. The use of Facebook style status updates is an effective choice. Most of the application’s features are very similar to other project management applications, however Scadaplan compiles them all in a way that works well.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

Scadaplan utilizes an eye-catching array of colors in a way that maintains a professional profile. Users can find hints of orange, green and peach in some of the application’s features. Lists and assignments are presented in a neat, organized fashion that gives the user an overview of what is required and who assigned the task to them. Scadaplan also implements rich backgrounds and other color elements to create an aesthetically pleasing project management tool.

How does the registration process work?

New users can create a Scadaplan membership by clicking the white “Create Account” button near the bottom, center of the homepage. Doing so takes the user to the registration form. The top section asks the user for a company name, desired Scadaplan domain and country location. The next section asks the user for individual details, including a first and last name, email address and time zone. The user must also check the terms of service and privacy policy agreement box before completing registration.

What does it cost to use the application?

Scadaplan is currently available to all users for free. There are no subscription fees or other charges associated with creating and maintaining an account. Users can get started managing projects, building to do lists and adding contacts to their Scadaplan profile. It is important to note that Scadaplan is currently in a beta status. The application might require a fee after it is officially released. For now, there is no further information on whether this is planned for the future.
