RoundPegg is intended to help employers make better decisions about who they hire. The application allows the user to evaluate beyond what is written on a candidates resume. RoundPegg implements organizational science as well as clinical psychology to help users determine who not only has the skills, but personality and character for the position they need filled. Users can also review a culture gap analysis to determine the global company’s culture as well as sub cultures that exist between groups, teams or departments within. This allows the user to determine the company’s most deeply held values. The hiring assessment feature enables users to view a number of important details about a candidate, such as how the candidate is misaligned with the team and whether those factors will cause issues or work in the company’s favor. The assessment also provides the user with the right interview questions to ask to get important responses that can say a lot about the candidate’s compatibility with the company.
RoundPegg was founded in May of 2009. Based out of Boulder, Colorado, the company remains small with fewer than 10 individuals. The team currently includes co-CEOs Tim Wolters and Brent Daily, Chief Architect C.J. Grimes and Chief Psychologist Natalie Baumgartner.
RoundPegg offers a unique service to business owners and hiring managers. The application enables the user to look beyond the usual criteria to determine if a candidate is a good fit overall. Skills are important, but even a qualified individual may not have the right personality or people skills to fit in. RoundPegg helps employers look for these possible issues before they hire.
The RoundPegg website has a very stylish design in blue and black. The intertwined, circular logo compliments the logo and motto in the upper, left hand corner of the homepage. The main header includes office related images in faded blue and black. RoudPegg presents users with a clean, organized design and effective job candidate evaluation tools that go together perfectly.
Visitors can register for a RoundPegg account by clicking the green “Sign Up Free” button found near the center of the homepage. The registration form requires a valid email address, first and last name and password. The user must also check the box to agree to the RoundPegg terms of service and privacy policy. After clicking the blue and white “Sign Up” button at the bottom of the form, the user is taken to their account dashboard.
RoundPegg provides users with membership for free. Individuals can sign up for an account without paying for the opportunity. The application does not require a subscription fee or other charge, either. There is no premium paid membership offered at this time. As soon as the user registers, they are given access to their dashboard and can begin taking or reviewing assessments and accessing other RoundPegg features.
RoundPegg is a great tool for companies. The application is intended to help improve the hiring process. Companies lose money when a new hire leaves or is let go. RoundPegg hopes to lower the chances of a bad fit by helping companies look beyond the typical details, such as skills and attendance, to see how the candidate will actually mesh with their company’s culture and their future team members.
