What can you use the app for?
On ResumeSocial, users post resumes to be reviewed by other users. Feedback provided gives insight and advice for improving resumes and cover letters.
What is the history and popularity of the app?
There is no information available about ResumeSocial’s founders, history, or traffic statistics.
What are the differences to other apps?
Unfortunately, what makes this site different is its lack of useful tools and content. The slow page loading times and lack of upload ability make ResumeSocial inconvenient and unappealing to use.
How does the web app look and feel to use?
Rather than a resume upload, ResumeSocial requires users to cut and paste or create a new resume in the text editor provided. Formatting may be lost in the process and it may be time consuming to fix. Several resume templates are available. Once chosen, a template is loaded into the online text editor so information can be revised and saved. Users can remove identifying information if desired, to maintain anonymity. Once the content is posted, other users may review and leave feedback in the form of a score and comments. The resource section is comprised of articles and links from other sources. There is little here and what is here is nothing new or original. Job searches link to indeed.com listings. It would be helpful to have listings on the site, rather than the multi-step process. The forum is unpopulated, with only a few posts by site administrators. The FAQ section is also very spare. Each section requires multiple steps and loading is generally slow. A couple of spelling errors were noted. This site simply does not stack up.
How does the registration process work?
Registration requires full name, working email address, username and password. A confirmation email with activation link completes the process.
What does it cost to use the application?
ResumeSocial is completely free to use.
Who would you recommend the application to?
This cumbersome website would not be anyone’s first choice for creating and sharing resumes.
