Quickish is an application that publishes real-time news stories in a “quickish” manner.
The app was founded in 2010 by Dan Shanoff, an ESPN.com columnist.
Quickish is based on tips provided by individuals as well as Quickish editors. Users are asked to send tips via email with links to the source or via Twitter with @quickish or the #qksh hashtag.
The interface appears as a string of short posts that are one to two sentences hyperlinked to a source for the full information or image. The site offers an “A.M. Quickish” post with new sports information each day.
A menu bar on the side of the screen offers trending topics, links to videos, a random tip generator, and links to longer articles. Users can also search the site, jump to tips about a particular sports league, or use links to connect to the app via Facebook or Twitter.
No registration is necessary.
There is no fee for using Quickish.
Sports fans will undoubtedly appreciate the nearly real-time updates during sports seasons. The site needs some polish and original content, but if a fan is looking for links to top sports stories, Quickish may have what they are looking for.
