Peers.me is designed to help users clean up their email inboxes and hold coherent conversations with a group. The application works by providing hosted conversations to its users. The user can begin a conversation, called a wave. Responses to each message appears on the user’s wave. Peers.me has included custom #hashtags as well as search filters that allow users to access specific waves. An archive is included so users can store older waves. The user receives a message when a wave is updated, even if it is archived. Peers.me sends the user direct email notifications as well as a daily digest so the user can review all recent activity. An invite allows the user to get others involved. The user can also view pending invitations and any invitation requests they received from other Peers.me users.

Traditional email conversations can be very effective, however they start to lose coherency when held among a group. The creators of Peers.me wanted to build a tool that would allow users to easily keep track of their conversations without all the hassle. The current version allows the user to manage multiple conversations, archive them and receive updates when new posts are made. The Peers.me team is based in The Hauge, Netherlands and includes CEO Van ‘t Veen and CTO Richard Mosher.

Peers.me allows its users to centralize all of their group conversations. The application is intended to help the user hold a coherent, organized conversation. Better organization also means less time spent sorting through responses. The application stores an archive of waves (conversations). Users can also invite others and view the status of their invitation any time they log in to Peers.me.

The Peers.me website welcomes users with stylized images of chatty people on top of buildings against a deep, blue sky. The large site logo appears in white to the left. Below, the site consists of a green and gold color scheme that matches the wide header. The user interface includes a similar color scheme with a clean layout. User can include a small avatar image beside contact names and email addresses.

New users can register for a Peers.me account right on the homepage. A gold box along the right hand side contains the first page of the registration form. The user is asked to provide their preferred Peers.me domain name. After entering the information, the user can click the green and white “Sign Up for Free” button just below it. The following page asks for the user’s email address as well as the email addresses of the contacts the user would like to invite to the site. The user must also check a small white box at the bottom of the form to confirm their agreement with the Peers.me terms of service. After clicking the green button at the bottom of the form, the user must check their email inbox for a confirmation message to complete registration.

Users with a small group of contacts can use Peers.me for free. The free access includes up to 10 users. After that, users pay on a per additional user basis. The account is charged for each additional user every month. The user can add credits to their account each time they need to add a new user. Account credits start around $2 per credit or as low as around 85 cents per credit when higher quantities are purchased.

Peers.me is a great tool for anyone who wants to host a group conversation online. The application is especially appealing for groups of 10 individuals or less. Small companies can use Peers.me as a way to communicate with employees and partners when they are not in the same physical location. The application can also be used for group planning sessions when taking trips or working on projects.
