PBWiki is a wiki farm that where users can create and host their wiki. A wiki is an application used to create and edit webpages easily. Wikis are most used to create content collaboratively. A wiki is useful for project management, sharing of documents and planning.

PBWiki was founded as PeanutButterWiki in August 2003 by three graduates of Stanford University. PBWiki claims to be the largest wiki farm in number of wiki pages. PBwiki changed its name to PBworks in April 2009.

After signing up users start with an example wiki which makes it easy to understand how it works and what the features are. A free wiki account contains advertising banners and offers a limited space of 10 megabytes. It's possible to pay for a premium wiki account for extra features and ad-free wiki-pages. Premium features include: customizable CSS style sheets, customizable domains, lock pages to prevent editing, page-level RSS feeds, hiding specific pages, advanced access control, enterprise-grade encryption and automatic backups of every revision of every page.
