What can you use the app for?
Oodle is an online classifieds website which can be used to sell and buy all sorts of things locally. Although there are a number of online auction sites this is one of the few sites that realizes just how important it is to trade locally with people that you can really go to visit. Oodle works in a very similar way to the classifieds section in your local newspaper, however it’s much easier to search and it’s also possible to look further a field if you need to. It’s extremely easy to use, you just need to enter what you’re looking for and then enter your state or zip code. Not only is it a classifieds site where people can post adverts, but it also links to eBay and many other popular websites.
What is the history and popularity of the app?
Oodle is a classifieds advert aggregator and was created by Scott Kister, Faith Sedlin and Craig Donato. The site was launched in 2004 and can be compared to a number of other popular sites. The software collects various adverts and then reorganizes them to make it easy to search for things that you want. Oodle is funded by Jafco Ventures, Redpoint and GreyLock.
What are the differences to other apps?
The site is very similar to a number of other sites. Oodle simply aggregates adverts from other sources and makes it easier to search. It has a nice location search function, however this is also a common feature with the other options available.
How does the web app look and feel to use?
Oodle is very easy to use you don’t even need to register to start searching through the various adverts on offer. All of the adverts can be searched by entering text, or by clicking on various categories until you can find what you are looking for. You can also specify the location where you want to find what you’re looking for. Various different types of items are listed, including cars and property this makes it very easy to find someone selling something that you want. It’s also possible to post your own advert, however for this you will need to sign up for an account.
How does the registration process work?
If you want to sign up for an account so that you can post your own adverts then you should be pleasantly surprised at how easy this is to do. You just need to enter your email address, choose a username, enter a password and enter your zip code. If you’re from a foreign country then make sure you only enter the first three digits of your postcode otherwise it will not recognize it. You will need to open the email that is sent to you and then click the link to activate your account.
What does it cost to use the application?
It’s completely free to use Oodle; it’s likely that the site makes money by earning commission should you purchase something from one of the other sites such as eBay or hot property.
Who would you recommend the application to?
Oodle is a very handy and helpful site that’s ideal for anyone. It covers a number of countries which make sit really easy for you to find someone fairly local with something that you are interested in buying. This means that you can actually go and see something in action before handing over any of your hard earned money.

Oodle has the worst customer support ever! They are slow, not helpful and don't know what they are talking about. I was having trouble with some of my listings and wrote to them. They took about a week to get back to me, and when I did what they advised me to do, it didn't solve anything, only created new problems. I wrote to them regarding the new problems and once again it took about a week for them to get back to me and the answer I got was almost condescending. Basically, the website is very, very limited from a business advertising stand point and they don't care about their customers.

Oodle is okay but I'm going to say that iList is better. iList has a really easy to use interface, plus you can link your social networks to the site, like I have my facebook linked to my iList account and I can promote my events and stuff there too. Its definitely worth a look.

Oodle is definitely a step up from Craigslist, as far as the interface is concerned, but so are most other sites made within the last 8 or so years. Either way, its good to see some color on a classifieds site, and the lack of graphics will definitely cause fewer distractions and promote a "get in, get out" mindset. If someone was looking for more than just a quick fix, I'd suggest taking a look at iList. It's a great social classifieds site which promotes a community and is all about users helping other users spread the word about their listings to maximize their audience.

oodle is great. i use it to search for stuff like used aeron chairs. however when it comes to something like cars, i've found dedicated car search engines like iseecars.com do a better job of making it easier and providing other tools to help search for deals. i find that to be the case for real estate as well which i use either trulia or realtor.
