Only2Clicks

Ratingstars2 Rated 2 out of 5 stars by AppAppeal Editor
What can you use the application for?
Only2Clicks is customizable internet portal page.
What is the history and popularity of the application?
Only2Clicks has been developed as a tool that allows you to view all your bookmarks graphically on one page. This is a great idea for the more visually inclined internet user who wants a quick overview of all their sites on one page.
What are the differences to other applications?
Only2Clicks visual presentation of bookmarks seems to be unique in the internet marketplace.
How does the application look and feel to use?
Only2Clicks has a very pleasant look and feel, with clear colors and readable text. Unfortunately, the website thumbnails don’t seem to be scalable, so people with large screen resolutions will have difficulty making out the website snapshots. It would be great if you could zoom in on and stretch the preview page, to see if your favorite bookmark has changed, but Only2Clicks sticks stubbornly to one size. As well as this, the website previews presented on the pages themselves seem to be strangely out of date. The preview image for a site can be up to a week old. This isn’t much use if you’ve bookmarked a news site which is constantly changing. So while Only2Clicks might look neat, it doesn’t seem to be well implemented.
How does the registration process work?
Registering an Only2Clicks account is simple. You need only to provide an e-mail and a password, and you’re not required to verify your e-mail account either, meaning that you can get straight down to business. When entering a link URL, be sure to add the “http://” part, as Only2Clicks won’t recognize a URL without the correct prefix. This seems odd, as the “http://” part of a website URL has been taken as a given by web users for almost ten years now.
What does it cost to use the application?
Only2Clicks is a free service funded by advertising. If you really like the service then there’s also an option to donate money. Whether or not this means you’ll get an advert free version in return is another question, most likely not.
Who would you recommend the application to?
Only2Clicks is based on an excellent idea that is suitable for Web 2.0, but unfortunately it has been developed very much in a Web 1.0 manner. Hopefully it will improve in the future, but in its current incarnation, it’s not much more than a fancy looking bookmark list and you’re probably better off to the bookmark facility built into your browser.
  • Snappy, visual presentation of bookmarks.
  • Website thumbnails not scalable and not up to date.
