Nsyght is an application for those who use multiple social media tools. By integrating them into one platform, users may view, reply, and forward information from one service rather than juggling several independent applications. Nsyght supports feeds from Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon, Flickr, Last.fm, Vimeo, and Delicious.

Founded in 6/07 and launched in 2009, Nsyght receives an average of 4,000 unique visitors each month. The company is based in London, Ukraine and Turkey. Nsyght was shut down on December 18th, 2010.

Rather than trying to replace the current social media tools, Nsyght claims to want to enhance them by channeling the data from whatever ones are being used into one interface.

Initially, sign up and linkage to current social media options is easy, unfortunately, the interface seems to have some glitches once in use. There is no troubleshooting section with suggestions for fixing these issues, and the help page yields a forum to which problems may be posted. After posting on the help page, an answer was received within 24 hours and the Twitter problem encountered during review was resolved.

The dashboard allows users to filter results by media feed as well as by type of reply. During the review process, live updates were compared to the Twitter web client feed and found to be timely. A filter may be applied to show results from friends only, replies, or everyone. ‘Everyone’ is simply a stream of all Twitter entries from anyone tweeting, an interesting, yet completely overwhelming and worthless feature. After choosing the filter option, users may start live updates which, as the name implies, shows real-time updates to the Twitter feed. This may be paused at any time and will then show a notification that new tweets are available to be viewed. In order to integrate Facebook, the details of the account had to be re-entered after the Twitter fix during this review. This was determined after another contact with the nsyght team via Twitter.

Registration requires a username, password, and email address as well as connection to a user’s social networks. Each social media platform will require permissions to be given.

Nsyght is completely free to users. No credit card or financial information is needed.

If the bugs can be worked out, and it seems that the company is very interested in helping new users, avid social media users would likely enjoy having all of their content aggregated in one place. The ability to share, reply, filter, and manage all applications from a common platform would be very useful.
