Netvouz is an online bookmarking facility.
Netvouz has a plugin system which will allow you to add web pages to your Netvouz account directly from your browser. If you are using a public PC, you can also add bookmarks to your Netvouz account manually, through the website. Once added, you can choose to keep your bookmarks private or have them visible for other Netvouz users to view. There are many options for viewing your bookmarks you can organize them alphabetically, by date of addition, number of times you've visited or view the most recently visited sites first. You can index your bookmarks by giving them keywords (tags), which you can then use to search for links by subject area. It's also possible to tap into other users' bookmarked links by searching through the tags of publicly viewable links. Searching for "Scotland" will bring up BBC Scotland and the Scotland tourist board website, for example. Another neat feature is Netvouz broken links manager. It will tell you when one of your bookmarks is no longer valid.
Netvouz competes with other online bookmarking facilities. It is certainly one of the better applications out there, with a very speedy connection and easy to use interface. There's no irritating advertising and you aren't asked to supply any personal details that you wouldn't want to.
Netvouz employs a pleasant look and feel using a white background comined with dark blue and green texts, a la Google. The site's functions are easy to find, as the site uses File and Edit menus which will be familiar to anybody who uses a PC or a Mac. Icons are easy to understand and large enough to view properly. It's clear that much thought was put into the design of this site.
Registering for Netvouz is easy. You supply a username, password and e-mail and you are immediately directed to your account's start page. It's that easy just as it should be. You will immediately be asked if you want to import your existing bookmarks from Internet Explorer, Firefox, or other social bookmarking sites.
Netvouz is a free service. Although as with all social bookmarking services, your browsing habits are probably being noted and used for targeted advertising.
If you want a simple, fast and reliable online bookmarking site, then this is a good service.
