MyTrade is a tool for investors to research and trade stocks. It includes an online community for investors to interact and connect.
MyTrade was founded by Andy and Landon Swan and was sold to Investools Inc. in December 2007.
The fully customizable interface allows users to create a dashboard that contains only the information they want and need.
Once registered, users may access their dashboards to view, edit, or add pods to the page, depending on interests. Users are invited to review the blog for tips and information on getting started, creating a profile, and following other investors. The Dashboard can be customized with tools and feeds. Any pod can be deleted or moved with drag and drop action.
On My Page, users can add brief bio information and web links. Users can also add a photo, write a note or blog entry, import a data chart, or integrate with Twitter or Facebook.
On the Think Share page, users can share real trades and copy the trades of members you follow. To use the trading portal, users must use thinkorswim’s system or TD Ameritrade Inc.
All support is offered through the onsite blog. Short videos are offered on the pages where a user is buying or selling stock. They explain shorting stock and other trade concepts. It would be more helpful to have a FAQ section or menu-driven setup guide for those who are interested in learning more or need a more in-depth explanation.
Registration requires a username, password, email, full name, and mailing address.
MyTrade is free to use.
Investors who want to interact with others about stock trades may benefit from creating a customized dashboard with the available tools and viewing trades and blogs of other investors. This would appeal to more seasoned investors rather than beginners.
