Mygola is a service that assists users in making travel plans. Users enter questions and real guides research and provide answers.
Mygola was co-founded by Anshuman Bapna and Prateek Sharma in October of 2009. There are no traffic statistics available for the site. In December 2011, Mygola announced they have received $1 million in seed funding from Dave McClure of 500 Startups, Blumberg Capital, and several other angel investors.
The application uses the most current information to answer questions and takes the time to research each answer fully. All data is personalized, comprehensive, and convenient.
Once registered, a user can start a new trip. As a default, all answers are made publicly available. Users enter a question and are then asked to give the country of their destination and trip duration. The question is confirmed as posted and users are prompted to pay $5, $10, or “other” to unlock another question from the free account. Answers are researched and answered within 24 hours.
A test question was submitted requesting suggestions for unique dining in the reviewer’s locale. This question was posed to see if the recommendations would truly be unique or simply standard search engine fare.
Within 19 hours, results were received. Each restaurant included a description, at least one review, an address and phone number, and the average price of an entrée. Of the seven results, three were new to the reviewer. Of those familiar, all were definitely good answers to the request.
Overall, the application was simple to use and the results were provided by an actual person (listed on the results page).
Users must provide an email address and password or allow integration with a Facebook account to register.
Users can get one question answered for free. They are asked to pay what they think is right after viewing the answer, but no payment is required. For $30, a user may ask an unlimited number of questions for one trip. For $99, users can plan any number of trips for one year. Payments are made through PayPal. While the site indicates that they use reputable sources, it is worth noting that they receive an affiliate fee for bookings from their research.
This application will be beneficial for anyone looking for a real person to help them with travel or other plans rather than resorting to search engines or travel agents. Depending upon the amount of information needed, a subscription may be beneficial.

there is nothing impressive about this site - The comment posted below by smriti seems to be a post by a staff member or someone working for MyGola. It's pretty obvious that this site is just a stripped down version of the recommendations section of TripAdvisor, VirtualTrip or any of the larger trip engines giving suggestions on what to do when you are in a particular city. What is the point of paying for travel recommendations when I can get them for free from many more reliable forums, websites and microsites. Waste of time I say!

I loved the concept and the Website. Like every website some bugs are obvious and it is a startup so one cannot expect fully Bug free website,BTW even facebook has lots of bugs. Regarding hiring the Content writers or travel writers, The bar is high because Grammatical Mistakes, Sentence mistakes are unacceptable and this thing every content writer knows. Practice question is assigned to check if the person is passionate about writing or not and that question is paid too. So if one cannot pass the test then they need to rework on there skills. because the questions are very basic. If you are passionate about Travel and writing you are always welcome. All the employee's are very highly educated and very professional.

Although the concept behind this custom itinerary travel site/service is interesting - their business model and guide on-boarding process is a ruse for potential travel writers and enthusiasts to "donate" their best ideas in the hopes of signing on to become on of their travel writers. Not only are the site's proprietors unprofessional in their conduct of trying to review and onboard writers for their custom travel planning segment - their "round about" method of accepting writer submissions and "non-intuitive practice question submission form" which also happens to be riddled with technical bugs - is a farce. Writers planning to "try out" their service - BEWARE! After interacting with this service - I just want to warn all potential writers of their service that they are an unethical and unprofessional entity, that no one should do business with.
