Memories could be milestones or simply a special day. The site uses a well organized timeline format (which looks like a garden) to organize photos and notes in chronological order. Moment Garden allows parents to tell their child’s story, complete with specific dates and photos, then share it with friends and family. The user controls who sees their Moment Garden so it remains private.
The concept behind Moment Garden was born after the creator began thinking about the importance of memories. The creator recalls a time capsule made by their mother that cannot be opened until 2025. This made them want to do something similar for their own children. This was the basis for Moment Garden, which is essentially a time capsule of memories and photos focused on children. Unlike the time capsule, the Moment Garden will continue to grow as friends and family observe the child’s development through their timeline on the site.
Moment Garden isn’t just another online photo album. It actually sorts events and photos in order so users can see a time line of events. The actual Moment Garden page is very attractive, with a garden background design and flags that can be used to mark important dates (such as the child’s birth day). The garden also includes photos, text memories and comments left by friends and family who were invited to view the Moment Garden.
New users can register for Moment Garden by clicking on the large, orange “Create Your Moment Garden” button found along the bottom center of the homepage (the user may need to scroll down to find it). The attractive registration form is relatively basic, asking for a first and last name, email address (which will be the user’s login), and a password. After clicking the orange “Next” button, the user is taken to the child information field. Here they can enter the child’s name, date of birth (or due date), gender, relationship to the user, and desired email address to be used as a contact on the child’s Moment Garden.
Anyone can create a Moment Garden page for free. There is no subscription fee required or other payment to use the site and its features. As soon as a user creates an account, they are given access to all available features on Moment Garden. This is a great way to encourage users to create Moment Gardens and possibly invite others to do the same for their children.
Any parent can get into Moment Garden. The application is easy to use and allows parents to keep an online record of milestones in their child’s development. These milestones can be easily shared and friends and family can comment and share their enthusiasm and support for a beloved child.
