Let’s Crate incorporates a fun, functional theme into its helpful file hosting service. Users can package their files or groups of files into “crates.” The site users a convenient drag and drop system that features a large crate image. Users simply drag their files into the opening of the crate and lets the site do the uploading for them. The files are stored on the user’s cloud and can be sorted and accessed through the site. Each file is also given a short link that can be used to pass the file on to others. The site claims that the service offers “ridiculously easy file sharing” and that might not be too far from the truth.
Let’s Crate was founded in November of 2010 by Sahil Lavingia and Dan Loewenherz. The team remains small (consisting of the original founders). The creators wanted to make a file sharing site that was easier to use than the existing alternative sites. The results of their efforts is the Let’s Create that users enjoy today.
Let’s Crate is not significantly different from its competitors. Just like other file hosting sites, Let’s Crate provides tools that enable users to upload, manage and share their files. The primary difference is the theme used by the website. The site applies a logical approach to the task and simplifies it with drag and drop functionality.
The main attraction on the Let’s Crate homepage is the large wooden crate placed at its center. The drag and drop design is used in a clever manner in this case, inviting users to drop their files into the crate. The site contains no clutter and allows users to group files together for better organization. Users can view a list of their crates (which are essentially text lists labeled by the user) by logging in.
New users can join Let’s Crate by clicking on the underlined “sign up for an account” link found at the center of the homepage. The registration form asks the user for a username and email address. After entering the information, the user can click the wide “Submit!” button at the bottom of the form. A light grey note at the bottom of the form subtly advises the user that by submitting their information they are agreeing to the Let’s Crate terms of use. As soon as the user has created their account, they are taken to the crate creation page and can begin sorting and uploading files.
Let’s Crate gives users two membership options to choose from. The first is a free account which includes up to six crates, 50 MB file size maximum and a storage limit of 200 MBs. Users can upgrade to the Let’s Crate Pro membership which costs just under $10 per month and includes unlimited crates, no maximum file size limit and up to 10 GBs of storage space. New users are automatically given a free account after creating their account.
Let’s Crate is a versatile tool ideal for anyone who needs to share files online. The system is easy to use and slightly more aesthetically pleasing compared to some of the alternative sites. Anyone can master the drag and drop uploader as well as the crate organizational system offered by the application.

Are you on the Let's Crate payroll???? Let's Crate is practically unusable for the following reasons (none of which you mention above): 1st: Let's crate is NOT compatible with IE 8!?!??!?!?!? IT IS THE MOST POPULAR BROWSER IN THE WORLD!!!!!!! 2nd: Let's Crate does not work with Firefox 7.0.1!!!! When I drop in a folder into your happy-happy "0% done uploading..." and NOTHING more happens?!?!?!? 3rd: Where is the "Help" link???? There is nothing about these problems or known bugs posted on the site.

It seemed to be a great service. But turns out nothing works and emails are not answered. I even paid for an upgraded option. Unfortunately, it's been a really disappointing experience.
