What can you use the app for?
Lefora is a hosted forum service which is designed to simplify the process of creating forums, and also to add various new features. The team behind the project found themselves getting upset with the various forums on the internet. Forums have been around for a very long time but nothing much has changed with them. Lefora aims to change that by revolutionizing the services on offer. The forums created on Lefora are designed to be very easy to use, easy to navigate, interesting, and encourage social interaction. Clicking dozens of links to do what you want does get very frustrating, which is why Lefora is becoming very popular. Even leaving a comment can be a pain on normal forums because you have to first subscribe and log in. Many other forums have limitations that do not allow you to embed videos from YouTube and other video sharing sites, and many do not email you to tell you when your questions have been answered. There are many complaints with the normal forum system. Creating a blog is really easy, but creating a forum is very difficult. Lefora is trying to make Forums much easier to create.
What is the history and popularity of the app?
Lefora is a hosted forum website which was launched to the public on 9th April 2008. The ideas behind the site are to make registering and creating a forum much easier. While the forum is seen as being at the core of the site, there are many of other services that enable users to do much more. Lefora was acquired by CrowdGather in July 2010.
What are the differences to other apps?
Unlike other hosted form services, lefora specializes in making the whole thing a little bit different. They make creating a hosted forum easier than ever and also incorporate a number of new features including being able to comment on forums without needing to register, and also the ability to find out about any responses to your questions by email.
How does the web app look and feel to use?
Lefora was created with the sole intention of making it easier to create hosted blogs on your computer and so the application itself is pretty easy to use. Starting your own forum for example is really easy, you just need to click the “Start a forum” button on the main page and you will then be walked through everything that you need to do. Creating a forum is as simple as creating a name for your forum, then entering your email and creating a username and password. Your forum will instantly be created and you will be forwarded straight to it. You can choose the theme for your forum, although the site suggests that you choose the modern one. You are then walked through the various settings that need to be adjusted. In no time you will get your shiny new forum up and running and be able to start enjoying it.
How does the registration process work?
Registration is even easier than it normally is. Registration is taken care of when you create your first forum; it’s just a matter of choosing a user name and then entering your email address. There don’t appear to be any confirmation emails that you have to reply to.
What does it cost to use the application?
Signing up to Lefora is completely free, and they do not currently offer any paid subscription based services. Whether or not this will change in the future is unknown, but there is the possibility that it will.
Who would you recommend the application to?
Lefora is ideal for anyone who wants to be able to create their own forum quickly and easily on the internet. It also offers many more features which makes creating a forum a much more rewarding experience.

Don't start a Lefora forum. User problems, such as the photo uploading bug that has been plaguing the site for years, are completely ignored. If you want a forum that will last more than a few months, this is a bad choice. I would totally use it for, say, a class, or maybe a quick discussion group, but NOT as an archive of valuable excahanges.
