It can be very difficult to get other interested individuals together to do something. The average person may want to do something, but need others to do it. Jumptive gives users a way to post events and activities within their community to attract others who are interested in participating. For example, a user could post a card game night one weekend and others can respond and join in. Users who love to play tennis could find a partner who is equally passionate about the game. Anyone who wants to see a movie but doesn’t have someone to go to the theater with can find someone else in the same situation so they can go together. There are many activities a user can post on Jumptive. The site can help anyone find a partner or group of others to do something in their community. Users can also search for events to see what is already posted. Interested users can RSVP through Jumptive. After the event, the user can rate it or flag it if attendees were absent.
The internet is a big place that often draws people together that otherwise would never have met due to distance. Jumptive takes that concept and brings it a little closer to home. The creators wanted to build a tool that helped people get in touch with their neighbors who share similar interests. Jumptive is still in beta and it seems that the site is not used anymore.
Many websites focus on bringing people together who do not live near one another. Jumptive encourages people to join up offline by providing an online tool that connects them. Users can finally enjoy their favorite activities or hobbies with a partner by posting events or participating in them on Jumptive.
The Jumptive website incorporates a black, blue and white color scheme that works well. The site includes many elements that are relatively well organized to prevent the homepage from becoming too busy. Four navigational tabs across the top center of the homepage invite users to explore each main area, which includes a search events tool, event creation form, discussion area and user account page.
New users can join Jumptive by clicking on the white “Join” link at the top, right hand corner of the homepage. A second blue Facebook button is found just below the join link that allows users to register through their Facebook profile. Users who prefer to go the traditional route are asked for a first name, email address, password, date of birth and gender. After entering the verification code to prove that the user is human, they can click the dark blue “Register” button at the bottom of the form. The user is taken directly to their dashboard and can begin updating their profile information.
Jumptive provides a helpful service that comes at a good price: free. There are no subscription fees or premium paid membership options. Jumptive is still in beta, so it is possible that this may change in the future. For now, there are no fees associated with Jumptive.
Jumptive could be a tool for anyone who needs others to do something offline. The site focuses on entertainment, sports and hobbies. However, the community is not active anymore. We don't recommend this social networking application.
