Indaba Music is an online community where musicians from all over the world interact. Fans, musicians and music professionals can all use this platform as a way to make music with people all around the world. The site is designed to make locating other people and working on recording projects together much easier. Indaba Music also allows fans a lot of access to their favorite artists throughout the process which gives some unique experiences. Recording hardware is no longer that expensive, it’s within reach of almost everyone. This means that it’s easier than ever for any artist to record and produce music that sounds just as professional as a main stream artist. Indaba Music has been designed to be a future proof platform where artists can utilize all of this new technology to create their music. While nothing is as good as working with someone else in the same room this site is the next best thing. Indaba Music allows new opportunities for people that would otherwise struggle to meet up to record music. Collaboration is responsible for making lots of great things, including music. This site is designed to encourage collaboration, and as new features are being added on a regular basis the future looks very exciting.

Indaba Music was launched in 2005, which by internet terms means that it’s actually pretty well established. Indaba actually means community and collaboration, it’s a Zulu word and was chosen because the platform is designed as a way to meet new people and share ideas to help make fantastic music.

Indaba music is similar to other social networking sites, however this site is specifically created for musicians and related people to work together even if they are nowhere near one another. This allows you to collaborate even if you’re all at opposite corners of the world. Making music should be great fun and this application allows that to be the case regardless of international boundaries.

Indaba Music is a nicely designed site; it’s very clean and has a lot of really neat features. It even features a very nice mixing program which runs directly from your browser. This means that you can work together with everyone, without actually having to worry about downloading and installing software. Another major advantage is that because this runs from within your browser it will be much easier to get people connected, you also won’t have to worry about port forwarding or doing anything complicated to your internet. All in all it’s a fantastic service that is becoming very popular with many budding musicians around the world! As soon as you first log in you can start to play around with the features. It might be a little confusing at first; however it’s much easier to use than a lot of professional equipment.

Registering for an account is as easy as normal, not to mention it’s completely free! Fill out the signup form and do the annoying Robot test as they call it. The form is slightly longer than other sites, but it’s worth putting up with. Also make sure that you accept the terms and conditions of the site. You will then be sent an activation email that you have to click a link inside. This will fully activate your account and then you’re good to go.

Indaba Music is completely free to use, it seems to be supported by adverts and sponsorship.
