What are the differences to other apps?

This app is supposed to generate personalized digital magazine content based on user input so that each magazine is customized for the user.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

It was interesting to find that some artists were not able to be found within site searches. Most notably, during review, Lady Gaga could not be found. Neither could R&B star Cee Lo Green or pop star Ke$ha. After finally finding seven artists, the personal Idio magazine had no articles or videos in it.

Without a list to choose from, and with the exclusion of many musical performers, this application is difficult to use. When seven major musical talents were listed under “loves” and one under “hates” along with several musical genres indicated as interests - and no content was produced for the personalized digital magazine, it seemed quite telling. This application will be of little use if it does not add global musical talents and provide content for all artists.

Supposedly, when content is added to a magazine, users can see comments about articles, share or email articles. Users can also listen to songs and view videos.

How does the registration process work?

Users begin by entering an artist they like or by importing their profiles from Last.fm, Pandora, Grooveshark, iLike, Playlist.com, mystrands, Songza, or MOG. Users view a sample article and are then prompted to click a link to sign up. Registration requires a username, email address, password, real name, country, gender, birthdate, and personal magazine update options. Users then can refine their personal magazine by indicating more artists they love or hate.

What does it cost to use the application?

Idio is free to use.

Who would you recommend the application to?

Until more globally recognized current artists are added, this application is not recommended.
