GoSquared was created to improve the way website owners and managers monitor traffic. The application focuses on making the process entertaining and informative. Rather than producing a few bland stats, GoSquared presents the details in a user friendly format. Not only does this make reviewing traffic statistics much more interesting, but it also reduces the amount of tie needed to comprehend the information. Users can view referral traffic, search engine traffic and other types of traffic to gain a better perspective on how their websites are doing and what is bringing in the most visitors. GoSquared also offers users LiveStats, a feature that gives the user real time updates as they happen.
GoSquared was founded by James Taylor, James Gill and Geoff Wagstaff in February of 2006. Based out of London, the team remains rather small consisting of fewer than five individuals, including CEO Gill, Developer Wagstaff and Engineer Taylor. The application focuses on many popular traffic sources, including Twitter, Digg, and Google.
GoSquared does many of the same things that other website monitoring applications can do. The difference is primarily in presentation. The application offers a Live Stat feature that produces the information in real time. Users can also quickly gather information from GoSquared’s attractive design. The application gives users valuable information that can help them come up with an effective marketing plan for their website.
GoSquared manages to combine its own unique personality with a very organized, professional atmosphere. Businesses can feel comfortable using GoSquared, which offers a great deal of information in a neat, clean format. There is no clutter on the website and the application includes stylish graphics and other design elements to give the user an overall positive experience.
New users can join GoSquared by clicking on the silver “Sign Up” button at the top, right hand corner of the homepage. On the following page, the user can select their membership plan. The registration form requires a first and last name, email address, password, and the website URL for the sites the user plans to monitor. If the user selected a paid membership, then they are also asked to provide billing information. Paid memberships include a 30 day free trial, but still require the user’s credit card information during registration for verification purposes. After filling out the form, the user can click the blue “Create my Account” button at the bottom to complete the process.
GoSquared provides its users with five memberships to choose from. The first is a free membership which allows the user to monitor one website and up to 10,000 monthly page views. Next is the Standard package which costs around $10 per month and includes monitoring services for up to three websites, the ability to track SSL pages, secure backed up data and 150,000 monthly page views.
