Ganttic helps users schedule resources, projects, facilities, equipment and employees. The application provides a visual representation of resource allocation. The user can easily drag and drop items to add to or re-arrange schedules. Teams receive instant updates when plans edited or created and detailed comments and log books are kept for reference whenever a user needs them. User permissions can be changed as well. Ganttic allows the user to review all of their projects in one dashboard, where all the necessary elements can be assigned. The data view can be customized to suit the user’s needs. Ganttic is a visual planning tool for users who manage projects and teams.
Ganttic was created to provide users with a universal scheduling tool that would allow them to manage everything, including people, facilities, projects and equipment. The application focuses on visual elements with a simple drag and drop system that is very easy to learn. The company is currently based out of Tartu, Estonia. The Ganttic team includes CEO Indrek Kuldkepp and advisor Ivar Veenpere.
The visual nature of Ganttic makes it an appealing option or many users. The user can see all of their allocated resources in one place. The application sticks with its visual focus by allowing users to drag and drop items directly on to their schedules. This can significantly lower the amount of time needed to learn the application when switching from a different scheduling system. Additional features are also a nice touch, such as instant team notifications and the clean user interface.
The Ganttic website welcomes users with a banner that features a whimsical sky and field background in rich greens, golds and blues. The header scrolls so the user can learn more about the application. The actual Ganttic user interface is very clean and easy to understand. Similar rich colors (presented with more vibrancy) are seen throughout the user interface. Each item is presented in different colors so the user can quickly see where their people, resources, facilities and equipment have been allocated and locate discrepancies or available time slots quickly. Pop up menus are presented with a darker background to create an appealing contrast that gives the application a little more personality and individual style.
A new user can get started with Ganttic by clicking the green and white “Sign Up for a Free Account” button found just below the colorful field header. This takes the user to the registration form. There are actually two forms presented. One is the actual registration form and the other (on the right) is an inquiry form for users who would like to host Ganttic on their own servers. Users who are creating a Ganttic-hosted account can provide their desired account name, email address (which will be the user’s login name) and a password.
All users are given access to a 30 day free trial of a Ganttic Pro account when they first sign up. After that, the user must select one of two membership plans. The Free For Life plan includes up to 10 resources. The Pro plan costs under $2 per month for each resource used. Both plans come with no other limitations and no credit card information is needed when signing up for the free trial. A self-hosted plan is also available, but requires the user to contact Ganttic to receive a custom quote.
Ganttic.com allows users to easily manage all of their resources in one place. The visual design of the application makes it much easier to navigate and learn. Ganttic even goes one step further by providing drag and drop scheduling features.
