What can you use the app for?
FormSite offers users a tool that creates forms quickly and easily. HTML forms can be put together and added to almost any website, blog or other web space. Surveys, contact forms and others are easily created and designed around a specific product, service, or organization. Rather than utilizing a canned form that was made for a general purpose, Form Site users can put together their own exactly the way they want.
What is the history and popularity of the app?
The concept of FormSite was inspired by a development issue that occurred in 1998. Randy Vroman was working independently as a developer. A marketing manager made a request for an internet survey and was informed that no time was available to put the project together. Vroman came up with a different solution to the time problem: create a tool that allows anyone to create their own surveys and forms. Focusing on simplicity, Vroman came up with FormSite, a way for non-developers to create forms.
What are the differences to other apps?
Ease of use is definitely a commodity offered by FormSite, however many other web applications do the same. What makes Form Site a little different is the way the application takes it a step further. Rather than only allowing users to create forms and collect responses, Form Site also provides tools to analyze the results.
How does the web app look and feel to use?
FormSite offers a highly professional appearance that works well for almost any purpose. The site retains its own personality, but does so without losing its appeal to businesses. The subdued color scheme and icon design makes navigation simple. Use of form creation and monitoring tools is only made easier through the blue title bars and logical layout. Users can sift through results, get the information they need and apply it as necessary without wading through clutter or distractions on FormSite.
How does the registration process work?
New users can click the “sign up for free” button on the homepage to begin registration. From there, a username, password, email address and time zone must be provided. After clicking the create account button, the new user is immediately directed to the account page. A message sidebar menu tells of new features added to the site while the top navigation tabs allow users to start creating forms or update account information.
What does it cost to use the application?
FormSite offers users five membership options. Users can access a free account right away, which includes up to 5 forms, 50 items per form, 10 results per form, 100 submits per month and 50 MB of storage. For about $10 a month, a deluxe account is available and upgrades to 100 items, 500 results and submits, and 250 MB. There are three tiers to the pro account, the first is about $20 a month and upgrades to 10 forms, 200 items per form, 1,000 results and submits, 500 MBs of storage, 1,000 mass emails per month and one scheduled export. A pro 2 account is about $50 per month and allows up to 25 forms, 300 items, 2,500 results and submits, 1 GB storage, 2,500 mass emails, 25 scheduled exports and up to 5 additional users. The most expensive account, called the pro 3, runs about $100 a month and includes 50 forms, 1,000 items per form, 5,000 results and submits, 2 GB of storage, 5,000 mass emails per month, 50 scheduled exports and up to 20 additional users. All pro accounts are also provided ad-free.
Who would you recommend the application to?
Anyone who needs to create a form can get use out of the tools offered through Form Site. The focus seems to be on surveys; however other types of forms can also be created. Unlike other sites, Form Site also includes a free account option that has no time limit, which budget-minded users can appreciate. The free account also offers a way for users to familiarize themselves with the sites capabilities before investing project funds into it.
