FoodPress is a collection of the best posts from WordPress food blogs. A food blogger reviews the blogs and chooses the best content to feature on FoodPress.
The site is maintained by food blogger Jane Maynard, but little else is available about the application. There are no traffic statistics available.
This application shortcuts the process of looking for recipes by compiling posts and recipes from multiple food blogs.
Like most WordPress blogs, FoodPress is easy to navigate. The banner has links to sections while a sidebar leads to the most used tags. Each featured recipe is linked to the blog it was posted in and opens that blog in a new window.
The sections are easy to use and browse, but a search feature for particular ingredients would be very helpful. Tags include: baking, BBQ, breakfast, brunch, dessert, side dishes, and vegetarian. Interestingly, there is no tag for main dishes. The Favorite Food Photos section is fun to look at and the photos rival the most lovely gourmet magazine shots.
It is understandable that this site uses a WordPress blog as it is featuring WordPress food bloggers, but it seems to limit the capabilities of the site.
No registration is necessary.
There are no fees associated with the blog.
Foodies who are interested in finding new, interesting recipe collections from multiple sources will likely enjoy FoodPress, as will those who enjoy browsing through the latest cooking magazines with no specific ingredients in mind.
