FellowStream is a virtual to do list with numerous uses. The application provides users with a web based work space to build a list of tasks and assign priority levels to vital items. Users can view task status in real time. An entire team can keep a project to do list updated so everyone can see up to the moment progress details. FellowStream also allows the user to view tasks assigned to individual team members as well as the last three tasks they completed. Calendars can be used to set deadlines and adhere to a project schedule while project wikis enable users to provide the team with accurate project knowledge. A built in inbox feature provides an easy messaging option that includes file attachment functions.
FellowStream was created by Avalon Labs in October of 2009. Based out of Las Vegas, Nevada, Avalon Labs was founded by Deborah and Jacob Fike. Today the team remains small, consisting of the original founders. FellowStream provides a number of helpful tools that allow users to stay organized while completing a project for work, school or any other purpose.
There are so many team management and organizational applications available on the web today that it becomes difficult to make something that is 100% original. FellowStream offers many of the same functions and capabilities as other similar applications. The user can communicate with team members, view a snapshot of project progress or look closer at each individual’s recent contributions and current obligations. Despite a lack of truly unique features, FellowStream is a good way to manage a team project.
FellowStream keeps everything well organized so users can be more productive and spend less time on planning and progress checking. Tasks are listed neatly with due dates and other relevant details The application has a green color scheme going on that gives it a refreshing appearance without detracting from its neat layout and user friendly design.
A visitor to FellowStream can create an account by clicking on the white “Sign Up Now” button in the lower, right hand corner of the homepage. This directs the user to the brief registration form, which requires an email address and desired FellowStream URL. A note at the bottom of the form advises the user that by submitting their information, they are automatically agreeing to the site’s privacy policy, terms of service and refund policy. After clicking the light grey “Create My Account” button, the user is advised that they must check their email inbox for an activation email to complete account registration.
FellowStream offers users three membership types to choose from. The first is a free account that allows up to two active users and one project with no storage capabilities. The Basic membership costs just under $10 per month and upgrades to include up to 10 active users, five projects, 1 GB of storage space and enhanced security features. The Pro membership costs just under $30 per month and includes unlimited active users, unlimited projects and 10 GBs of storage space.
FellowStream is a valuable tool for users who have a project and team to organize. The application offers all the basics in an eye catching design. Although it may not have as many of the detailed features a more expensive team management application includes, it does offer everything a small business, student group or organization needs to collaborate and complete a project.
