For many internet users, feeds have become the preferred way to stay on top of comments and new information. The feed is ideal because it is simple and convenient. Users can see recent lists of new additions. The only downside to the feed is that managing many of them can get cumbersome. Even a very busy feed can become large and the user can begin missing new responses or messages. FeedLooks gives users a way to avoid becoming lost in a sea of feeds. The application makes it easy to manage existing feeds and add new ones without spending a great deal of time each day organizing them. FeedLooks lets users integrate their existing feed reader to condense their reading into one application. The system gives users the ability to find new posts without having to manually mark others as read. FeedLooks automatically sorts them for the user. FeedLooks also gives publishers another way to get their content out in front of more people to gain popularity and possibly profits.
FeedLooks was created by a team of one made up of Artur Adib. Founded in April of 2010, FeedLooks wanted to give users a blog and Twitter reader that was easy and convenient to use. Today, the site is based out of Washington, D.C. and provides users with many tools to get organized. FeedLooks can help users to stay on top of new posts without spending hours wading through the old ones.
Feeds have become a very popular way of gathering information on the internet. There are many ways to organize them although few actually compile many feeds into one simple application. FeedLooks helps users spend less time figuring out their feeds and more time absorbing the information or participating in discussions.
FeedLooks presents a very colorful purple and blue design with a playful logo that welcomes all manner of users. Although publishers can use FeedLooks to discover new business through readership, the site is very personal and does not give off an overly “business” feeling to newcomers. The organizational system is also easy to understand, using tabs to sort through read and unread messages.
A new user can join FeedLooks by clicking on the “Sign Up” button at the top, right hand corner just under the login area. The user will notice that the login area will change into the registration form. This is not readily apparent because it only adds one field to the box. The user is asked to provide an email address and password. After submitting the information, the user is advised that a message has been sent to their email address with a confirmation link that must be clicked to complete registration.
FeedLooks offers a simple, effective service. It works, but it is not something that most people would be willing to hand over money for. Luckily, FeedLooks is available for free to all users. There are no premium paid membership options yet with no word on whether there ever will be. The site is still in beta so things may change as it evolves. For now, anyone can use FeedLooks for free.
Users who have a hard time managing their feeds in a timely manner can really appreciate FeedLooks. The application helps separate read and unread messages. This can dramatically reduce the amount of time needed to discover new feeds each day.
