FanGager helps businesses, individual and others engage their fans effectively. The user can create a FanGager account and embed the application almost anywhere. Each time a fan completes an activity, they are awarded points by Fangager. Activities include posting, commenting, “liking,” Tweeting and other common sharing and brand exposure-encouraging tasks. The user can decide how they would like to award their fans by providing badges, virtual gifts or real prizes that the user can obtain by redeeming their points. The application also helps the user see who their biggest fans are and how well they are doing in the eyes of those who follow them. Users can also set up contests that encourage users to do something as simple as a daily action (like a mention or ReTweet) or participate in games or polls.
FanGager was founded in February of 2009 by Eran Gefen. The application was intended to help users maximize the potential of their fan bases. The current version includes many ways to encourage fans to spread the word about the user’s brand while giving something back. The user can set up contests and award points for daily activities, such as social network sharing and commenting. The application has earned itself quite a few positive reviews for the many ways it helps users engage their fan base.
FanGager is committed totally to the fans. The user can set up a store just for their fans. The application awards fans points which becomes currency to use in the store. This provides the user with a convenient, rather inexpensive way to engage their fans and encourage interaction while rewarding their biggest fans for their loyalty. The application offers its unique service to help businesses, organizations and individuals capitalize on their growing fan base.
FanGager has fun, upbeat personality that shines through in the design. The interface seen by fans will vary based on the user’s requirements. The user can determine how they want FanGager to look so the application always blends seamlessly with their social networking profile or website. The user interface is easy to understand, with brightly colored dials and line charts that help the user view fan counts and activity related stats. The user can easily monitor the growth of their fan base by taking a brief moment to visit the FanGager dashboard.
A new user can try FanGager by clicking the black “Get Started Now” link in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage. An orange pop up box appears and asks the user to provide their company name, first and last name, job title, email address, phone number, number of Facebook fans, number of Twitter fans and who they are (a PR agency, AD agency, brand, developer or other). A small check box in the bottom of the right column is automatically selected to sign the user up for the FanGager newsletter. This must be manually unchecked to opt out of emails. After submitting the form, the user is advised that FanGager will contact them shortly.
FanGager does not provide any set subscription fees or other charges for its services. The user must submit a registration form to find out how much the service will cost for their company. This is most likely determined by the number of fans the user already has, however the site does not provide any further information. Users who would like to sign up should do so to request a custom quote to find out if FanGager will fit into their budget.
FanGager is a helpful tool for businesses, PR agencies and anyone else who handles fans and marketing. The application helps users get more mileage out of the efforts of their loyal fans. The user can also find ways to hold their fan’s interest by providing another way to give a little something back while getting more word of mouth advertising through social network sharing.
