What can you use the app for?
Fanduel.com is an online fantasy sports site where users can play fantasy sports for money. Unlike other fantasy sports sites, play is based on individual games which last only a day (baseball) or a week (football). According to the site, the rules of fantasy sports do not fall into the category of sports betting, so the site does not violate the law in the US and Canada concerning Internet gambling. However, there are certain states and one province (Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, Vermont, Quebec) which consider playing fantasy sports for money to be gambling, so the site is not legal for users in those states or province. The site currently offers fantasy baseball games, but plans to add football soon. After signup, the user drafts his or her team for the daily game. Users can drag and drop players in their list to order them into positions. The user then sets a fee and chooses their opponent. The opponent can be a buddy on the site, a real-life friend, or a whole fantasy league. At this point the draft takes place and the roster is emailed to the participants. Then the game begins, and the stats come in throughout the day as the game is in progress. The team that wins also wins the cash prize for the game. The site takes a 10% cut of the amounts played for, so if a user sets a fee of $5 for a game, the payoff is $9.
What is the history and popularity of the app?
Fanduel.com was founded in March 2009 by Nigel Eccles, Tom Griffiths, Rob Jones, Lesley Eccles and Chris Stafford. Nigel Eccles is currently CEO. The site has undergone steady growth since launch and has thousands of unique monthly visitors. The site has a current Alexa page rank near the 300,000 mark.
What are the differences to other apps?
Competition to Fanduel.com comes from sites like CBS Fantasy Sports and Yahoo Fantasy Sports. Both of these sites attract many more users than Fanduel, but there are two major differences – they do not facilitate cash prizes and the leagues last all season long. The Fanduel site allows users to play a different game each day and receive the results/payout.
How does the web app look and feel to use?
The Fanduel.com site has a clean and uncluttered look and feel. Page loads are quite responsive and navigation is intuitive. There is a convenient top menu bar provided for navigation, which is shown on all pages on the site. There is a Leaderboard which shows the players on the site ordered by number of wins. There is no advertising displayed on the Fanduel.com site.
How does the registration process work?
Registration to the Fanduel site is required to participate in games. The registration process asks for full name, email address, screen name and password. Validation of the email address is not required.
What does it cost to use the application?
Users must make a minimum deposit to the site of $5 in order to play the games. The site accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards via PayPal as payment for amounts deposited to the site.
Who would you recommend the application to?
Fanduel.com is recommended to baseball and football lovers everywhere. It is especially recommended to users who are already playing fantasy sports, and would like to be able to play for money on the Internet. The site is very easy to use, and the game play process flows smoothly.
  • Users can play Fantasy Baseball games that last only one day
  • Users can play for prize money by setting a fee for each game – the winner takes 90% of the combined fees
  • Users set their fee, draft their team, then receive their roster via email
  • The site plans to add football – games will last one week
  • Except for a few states in the US and one province in Canada, the site is legal in the US and Canada

I like the streamlined, quick loading old school style of the page. Paypal is very selective so if they say it's legit, I believe.

This site appears at first glance to be legit. And the game play interface is rather clean and easy to use. There are plenty of positive "reviews" of this site out there. Of course these reviewers are getting well paid. Large free bonuses are promised when you sign up, but once you give them your money, you find they won't give it to you until you spend hundreds on their site - this is not mentioned anywhere until after you sign up. They also offer a no questions asked guarantee, that they do not honor. AVOID.
