The biggest and most important difference is the domain name, families.com must be worth a fortune and is very easy to remember. It’s possible to search for advice and read the forums to ask all sorts of questions. There is also a entertainment section which is especially valuable when the kids are on holiday or off school. The blog articles are quite bad. Bloggers get paid for every article and they don't try to write something useful.
How does the application look and feel to use?
Families.com isn’t the most attractive looking website ever. The user interface isn’t too bad but it seems a little clunky, you have to click twice rather than just clicking once for example. To get to the forums you first have to select community and then click on community forums. This isn’t the end of the world but after a while it does get frustrating. It can also be difficult to remember where certain features are located. The popup menus are fairly small and easy to miss if you don’t know what to look out for.

Registering for an account with families.com is annoying. First you need to fill out the registration form, then you have to skip four (!) registration forms for advertising newsletters. You will be sent an activation email to the email address that you registered with. You need to confirm this before you can use the entire site. You will however be allowed to browse the site before activating.

Families.com is completely free to use, it’s supported by banner adverts at the top of the page, in-text advertising and smaller adverts throughout the content. These are quite big but don’t cause any real problems. They also try to sign you up for advertising newsletters.

Families.com is a site where paid bloggers write articles on family related topics. It’s like a guidebook but it can be updated by anyone, this also means that you can ask questions. Most articles are totally useless and the site is not recommended to anyone.
