What can you use the app for?

Estately is an application for exploring available properties in the US. Users may browse home listings and connect with local agents to schedule property tours.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Estately was founded in 2006 by Galen Ward and Doug Cole with the goal of making it easier for home buyers. The idea was to offer a comprehensive database of real estate and matches people with real estate agents in their area.

What are the differences to other apps?

The site claims to be comprehensive, but is not. Those seeking real estate are better served using local venues.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

During review, there was only one listing in the first area chosen. There are, in fact, many homes for sale in that area, but none were listed on the site. A second, larger city produced no results at all. This really indicates the limitations of the site, which claims to have membership to many Multiple Listing Services (MLS) across the US and “the most comprehensive database of homes available in your area.” While the site maintains offices in Washington, Illinois, New York, California, and Georgia, one might expect those states listings to be more complete. Not so. The test city that yielded only one result was in New York.

Once a listing is chosen, a page of details is provided, including basic information about price, beds, baths, and a gallery. A summary from the agent, map, and detailed property information is also listed. Users are prompted to choose a date to see the property through the site.

Estately is relatively easy to navigate, but until listings are actually “comprehensive”, it is of little use.

How does the registration process work?

Users provide a login name, email address, and password to create an account.

What does it cost to use the application?

Estately is free to use.

Who would you recommend the application to?

Estately is not recommended until it expands to include more cities.

  • Free to use
  • Limited database of real estate
  • Searchable by city
  • Thorough listing data for properties
  • Site is easy to use

Hi Bob, thank you for your comment. AppAppeal strives to keep up to date as much as possible. As a result, parts of our reviews change over time, but not all parts need to updated. This means that there is not just one publishing date available. In the case of this review no outdated information was found. If you find any information that is outdated please let us know. Your feedback is much appreciated.

An undated review isn't as useful as a dated review.
