What can you use the application for?
Edicy.com is a site that allows users to create a professionally-designed website without any previous technical or programming knowledge. The site features an easy to use site editor that the average user with basic computer skills can use to create a website. The user can choose from over 30 professionally-designed templates for their site. The editor allows for easy modification of the text and images once a template has been selected. The user can easily add pages to their site using the site editor. Users can choose a custom name for their site, which is in the form MySiteName.edicypages.com. Users can assign their site to a custom domain name with a Pro membership to the Edicy site. Users have control over the overall look and feel of their site based on the template they select. Once a template has been selected, the user can edit the text and images on each page of the site, with complete control over fonts, colors and other attributes. When a page is added, it is automatically added to the menu for the site. Each site comes with a built-in blog, with a blog summary shown on the home page of the site. Users can add a variety of forms to the pages on their site, including web links, email addresses, text entry boxes and email forms. Publishing of the site can be turned On or Off. When publishing is turned On, changes made in the editor are immediately published to the live site. With publishing turned Off, no changes are made to the live site until publishing is turned back On. Overall, the site editor is quite good and should present no problems for the average computer user.

What are the differences to other applications?
Competition to Edicy comes from sites such as Blogger, Homestead and Weebly. Blogger is primarily designed for blogging, but many people use it to build a general website. The Edicy site is much more versatile than Blogger, however. Homestead and Weebly offer services similar to Edicy, with Homestead being a bit more difficult to use than Edicy, while Weebly is easier to use than Edicy. This is a crowded field, and there are a host of other free website builders available on the web.
How does the application look and feel to use?
The site editor is very responsive, and functions nearly as quickly as a dedicated desktop application. The site editor interface is very easy to use, and there is only a small learning curve associated with learning how to edit a site. There is no advertising displayed on the Edicy site.
How does the registration process work?
Registration to the Edicy site is free and is required to use the site. The registration process simply asks for an email address. A validation email is sent to the user with a password assigned by the site. The only limitation to a free account at Edicy is that the site address is a sub-domain of Edicypages.com.
What does it cost to use the application?
The user’s site can be assigned to a custom domain by purchasing a Pro membership. A Pro membership costs $52 for 90 days, $84 for 6 months, $144 for 1 year and $216 for 2 years. The site accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal as payment for a premium membership. Full billing name and address are required for credit card purchases.
Who would you recommend the application to?
The Edicy site is recommended to any user who wishes to quickly build a professional-looking website. It is especially recommended to users without web programming knowledge, as the site editor is very easy to use. The editor allows the user to customize their site quite a bit, but the user is still somewhat restricted by the template chosen. The Pro membership is more expensive than most of the competition.
