DocStoc is an online community where people can go to share professional documents with one another. Using DocStoc it’s possible to find professional documents for free. It’s a platform that allows users and businesses to be able to share their documents with the whole world. DocStoc was founded in August 2007 by Alon Shwartz and Jason Nazar. In September the site was unveiled at the TechCrunch40 conference. The site was publicly launched in November 2007.
The company is backed by the venture capital firm Rustic Canyon and has received funding from a number of different sources. The company is currently located in California.

Unlike many other applications this one is completely free to use, it’s also very easy to search for and download documents. If you want to upload documents then this is also very easy. Perhaps the biggest difference is the huge number of documents that are available on the site which makes it a very valuable resource.

The application is very easy to use and takes a matter of minutes to get used to. Finding a document is just a matter of browsing through a category or searching for it. You can then download the document to your computer if you want by clicking the button, however you will first have to register.
How does the registration process work?
You don’t need to register for an account if you just want to view documents on the website, however if you want to download documents or upload your own documents then you will need to register for an account. The registration process is very simple and doesn’t take very long. Simply fill out the form including your name, email address, password and also complete the small human test. You do have to enter your real email because they will send an email to that address to verify that it exists. Once you have finished that you will then need to complete your profile. As soon as you have registered you can then download the documents to your computer.

DocStoc is completely free to use, there are no paid accounts and no advanced features for paid account holders.
Who would you recommend the application to?
DocStoc is a resource for anyone that is looking for professional documents. If you have to create a non disclosure contract or any other form of professional document but have no idea where to start then searching for documents here could be a real lifeline. Contracts are horrible to write, but you might not have to actually reinvent the wheel.
