Cozimo is a collaboration application that caters to professionals who work with visual media. The application allows users to review and manage PDFs, videos, markup images and other documents. The user can access their Cozimo account from any computer with internet access. Users can also host live interactive meetings to help streamline collaboration and reduce the amount of time needed to organize a face to face meeting. Cozimo also maintains a complete record of all project related communications so the user can find any necessary notes or other information without asking a client or team member to repeat the information. Users can not only view their images, but also add notes and guidelines in varying colors with different line sizes and opacity.
Cozimo was founded in 2006 in Berkeley, California. The team currently includes CEO Josh Rosen as well as an additional office in Montreal, Canada. The application was intended to fill a need for better collaboration options among designers and creative professionals whose work is visual in nature. Today, Cozimo offers users many valuable features that encourage convenient interaction and can reduce the amount of time needed to get response from clients and colleagues.
There are many collaboration applications out there, however most are geared towards a general professional audience. Cozimo is one of the few that focuses on a specific type of professional: those who work with visual media. The user can request feedback and provide edits and notes directly on images.
The Cozimo website welcomes users with a light color scheme and stylish logo. Seven navigational tabs that run across the top of the homepage help users learn about the application and discover how it can help them improve their business. The tools included are very easy to use and make it much easier for clients and others to explain what they want using a visual medium.
Visitors can become Cozimo users by clicking on the orange “Sign up for free” button in the upper, left hand corner of the homepage. The user can select from one of six membership options. To create a free account, the user must scroll down below the pricing plan graph to an orange “free personal account” link in the text just below it. The registration form requires a full name, username, email address and password. The user must also enter a verification code to prove that they are human and select the terms of service agreement box before completing the registration process.
