The designers behind Since 78 found that coming up with a good name for the sites they designed was more difficult than it seemed it should be. Through this personal experience, the team went on to develop Blungr, which was intended to generate unique and relevant domain names for Since 78’s newest projects. Today, the application still does this and can also help a new business owner generate a name that fits his or her new undertaking.

Blungr isn’t another random name generator. The site actually takes a few important criteria into consideration when creating a potential domain or business name. The user can enter a couple keywords that the name will be based on. They can also select a prefix and suffix. Blungr will not only generate a handful of potential names that utilize elements from the keywords provided, it will also tell the user whether or not that name is available by listing them in red (for not available) or green (For available). A small yellow “buy” tab appears next to those that are available so the user can immediately register the domain name.
